Grande Cache is currently without network, landline or cellphone services

911 calls can still be made from cellphones but 911 calls cannot be made from landlines. The Grande Cache Community Health Complex remains open and continues to provide care to all patients. EMS continues to be available for area residents. The cause of the issue is being investigated by Telus.

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is responsible for delivering health services to the 4 million people living in Alberta.

The Alberta Health Services Board was re-introduced on October 23, 2015 with Linda Hughes appointed as the Board Chair.

On June 3, 2016, Dr. Verna Yiu became President and Chief Executive Officer of Alberta Health Services.

She leads a staff of 100,000 caring and dedicated individuals who make up the AHS workforce. In this role she is leading health services through transformational change, shaping the future for AHS to allow achievement of the goals of access, quality and sustainability.
