Lakeland Communities Health Advisory Council is located east of the Alberta/Saskatchewan border in the centre of the province, representing municipalities like Cold Lake, Lac La Biche, Bonnyville and Athabasca.
The Health Advisory Councils’ purpose is to enhance and develop partnerships between the province’s diverse communities and Alberta Health Services.
Public participation is essential to improving the quality and accountability of health services. Continuing to draw on community members for feedback and input will help us meet our mission of providing a patient-focused, quality health system that is accessible and sustainable for all Albertans.
The public is invited to attend and observe Council meetings. Please visit our Upcoming Meetings & Agendas page to find the next meeting. To request to present at a meeting, please complete and submit a Request for Presentation to Agenda Items form.
Each Council will develop an annual Work Plan that will include the goals and objectives determined by the Council and include proposals for formal consultations and engagement activities with communities.
The Councils shall provide to the Alberta Health Services Board an Annual Report of its activities for the previous fiscal year (April 1 – March 31).
