Working Together

Everything we do at Alberta Health Services is about improving the health of Albertans. Community input and engagement furthers our ability to provide quality, patient-focused healthcare that is accessible and sustainable.

The Alberta Health Services team is committed to engaging the public in a respectful, open and accountable manner to support the strategic direction of the organization. Community input and feedback allows us to better address the health needs of communities.

Engage in Your Community

Patients, families and everyday Albertans are important stakeholders for Alberta Health Services. They help us transform our health system through:

  • gathering information including public input respecting health, health needs and health services for the residents of the communities we serve;
  • providing advice to AHS about health issues, health needs and health priorities, access to health services, the promotion of health, and other matters;
  • promoting and participating in activities that enhance the health of residents of the communities we serve.
Get Involved

Think of the difference you can make to the health and well-being of your family, friends, neighbours and community by sharing your thoughts and ideas with us. There are a number of ways to get involved:

  • Attend an upcoming council meeting. Agendas and notices are posted here.
  • Make a presentation at a council meeting on a health area of interest or concern.
  • Think about volunteering your time as a council member. Recruitment drives happen annually. Members are appointed for a three-year term.
