St. Paul

The Town of St. Paul is located in the northeast region of Alberta, just 200 km away from Edmonton. Due to its location, St. Paul is considered to be a service centre for the surrounding area. The town has a diverse population of 5,844. An airport and multiple highways provide easy access to and from the area.

The community features many recreational facilities including a recreation centre, indoor ice arenas, sports fields, a golf course, movie theatres, and a bowling alley. Nearby are 14 lakes and numerous campgrounds.

St. Paul’s major industries include agriculture and oil and gas.

The St. Paul Healthcare Centre is a 30 acute care bed facility including three bed special care unit, two labour and delivery rooms, and two palliative care beds. The Centre also has a 30 bed continuing care facility and a 10 bed psychiatric unit.

The Healthcare Centre employs a team of health professionals and support staff in the following departments: Administration, Admitting, Medical Device Reprocessing, Continuing Care, Emergency, Nutrition and Food Services, Health Records, Housekeeping, Lab, Laundry, Maintenance, Materiel Management, Nursing, Operating Room, Outpatients, Pharmacy, Renal Dialysis, Rehabilitation, Ultrasound and X-ray. The Community Health Unit provides Homecare Services, Public Health services, and Speech Pathology.

Lac La Biche

Lac La Biche is a growing community located 220 km northeast of Edmonton. It is the regional centre for business, health care, education, and government services. With over 3,000 residents living within the town boundaries, the population doubles during business hours as people come for work and school.

The town prides itself on its clean air, unobstructed views, and hospitable community. In 2010, a 227,000 square foot recreation, entertainment and education facility - named the , opened its doors.

Lakeland Provincial Park and Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park are both located within the Lac La Biche Region. Throughout the region, there are over 150 beaches.

The Lac La Biche (William J. Cadzow) Healthcare Centre has 23 acute care beds, including one palliative care bed, and 42 continuing care beds including one respite bed. The Centre employs a team of health professionals and support staff in the following departments: Administration, Acute Care, Admitting, Central Supply Room, Continuing Care, Emergency, Nutrition and Food Services, Health Records, Housekeeping, Lab, Laundry, Maintenance, Materiel Management, Nursing, Outpatients, Operative Services, Pharmacy, Rehabilitation, Ultrasound and X-ray.
