The Ebola Outbreak in West Africa was declared over by the World Health Organization on January 14, 2016.
Although the risk is very low, flare-ups of the virus may occur in affected areas. Alberta Health Services and Alberta Health remain prepared to protect the health of Albertans. Procedures and precautions are in place across Alberta, and collaboration between Alberta health professionals and officials, the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) and other provinces and territories, continues.
